In continuation of last year, sacrificial animals are being bought through digital payment in 11 animal markets of Dhaka and Chattogram. Under the 'Smart Bangladesh, Smart Haat' initiative run by the Bangladesh Bank, Dhaka North City Corporation and Chattogram City Corporation, customers are getting the opportunity to easily pay the prices of the sacrificial animals and the proceeds in these haats in Dhaka and Chattogram.

This year, in the list of 11 bazaars in Dhaka they include: Gabtali, Bachhila, Aftabnagar, Bhatara, Kaola, Uttara Diabari, Mirpur Eastern Housing, Dhaka Polytechnic Ground, Kanchkura Rahman Nagar (Ward No. 44). And in Chattogram, Sagorika and Noor Nagar animal bazaars, offer purchases of sacrificial animals completely cashless. No matter, they buy animals cashless or with cash, both can pay the Hasil through bKash. Buyers can easily pay the Hasils by scanning the bKash QR code given at the specific location of the market.

Besides, provision has been made to open 'Personal Retail Account' at the haats to enable the sellers and lessees to easily use the bKash account. As per the instructions of Bangladesh Bank, the daily transaction limit for cash out of these special accounts opened for haat will not be applicable.

It is to be noted that Bangladesh Bank and Dhaka North City Corporation have been operating 'Smart Bangladesh, Smart Haat' since last year to build Smart Bangladesh, reduce reliance on haat-based cash, secure money for buyers and sellers and prevent fraudulent activities.

Apart from haat, many people now buy sacrificial animals online. Buyers also use bKash Payment to buy sacrificial animals online.
